Requesting exemption of the additional tuition fees (students from outside Europe)

Université Grenoble Alpes is committed to continuing to welcome all international students, at no additional cost, into most of its degree programs
Following a decision of the Board of Directors, Université Grenoble Alpes has decided that extra-communitary students subject to the payment of differentiated tuition fees can, upon request, benefit of the exemption of these additional tuition fees.

What the new decree on tuition fees changes at University Grenoble Alpes

Since 2019, international students from countries outside the European Union have been paying higher tuition fees. A new decree published in May 2026 amends the rules allowing universities to grant tuition fee waivers to international students.

At University of Grenoble Alpes, we are supporting this change with a transition year in 2026–2027, before implementing a program focused on supporting international students, inclusion, and academic success starting in the 2027–2028 academic year.
