Research strategy and ambition

At Université Grenoble Alpes, we are committed to developing a bold research policy that focuses on knowledge and innovation.
With respect for everyone's right to search and understand, we support fundamental and applied research at the highest international level. Our wide range of disciplines is a strength in both developing our fields and building interdisciplinary projects.

As a research operator, we explore emerging fields in science and develop already established fields. Drawing on the creative potential and expertise of our students, staff and partners, we act as a driver for innovation at the service of society and human development, with respect for the planet. Our laboratories tackle the challenges of the future with a bold, open and independent mindset.

Université Grenoble Alpes' research is known for its close interaction between higher education institutions, research bodies and major European and international research infrastructure. The excellence of the Grenoble university campus and the synergies of our laboratories shared with the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the French National Institute for Research and Digital Science and Technology (Inria), the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm), the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), the Grenoble Alpes University Hospital (CHU Grenoble Alpes) ,and the French National Research Institute for Sustainabale Development (IRD) have made it possible for the university campus to be certified as an "excellence initiative". We build strong connections with renowned universities and research centers in France, Europe and the world through our research, and in collaboration with our academic programs.

Our goal is to drive scientific and technological development in our region, namely by developing partnerships with businesses and the cultural fields. We are following a bold policy of innovation and technology transfer in order to transform our society and develop businesses through innovation.
