It’s Tokyo Olympics time for UGA students and graduates!

From PyeongChang to Tokyo, from Winter Games to Summer Games, the Olympic journey carries on for high-level athletes and graduates from Université Grenoble Alpes. This summer, 10 champions will take part in the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. Let’s get to know the UGA delegation!
Although the Olympic flame has not visited the capital of the Alps since the 1968 Winter Games, high-level athlete students and young graduates from Université Grenoble Alpes have carried the torch at each Olympiad. In 2018, 18 UGA champions took part in the PyeongChang Winter Games in South Korea, where they snatched two Paralympic medals and 6 Olympic medals, totaling 40% of the medals won by the French team!

Already present at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Jordan Pothain (swimming), David Smétanine (para-swimming) and Valentin Prades (modern pentathlon) will be joined in these Tokyo Olympics by 7 new high-level student athletes and young graduates from UGA.

Starting July 23rd, join the 10 UGA champions on the tracks, tatamis and climbing walls of Tokyo, as well as its nautical stadium and Olympic pools.
