  • Announcement
    International students: what the new decree changes regarding tuition fees at UGA
    Since 2019, non-EU students have been subject to fees that differ from those applied to students from the European Community and assimilated categories. The decree of 19 May 2026 amends the rules allowing universities to grant exemptions from tuition fees for international students. UGA will support this change with a transition year in 2026-2027, before implementing, from 2027-2028, a scheme geared towards supporting international students, inclusion and academic success.

    Antarctica: Unprecedented Stations to Measure Ice to the Nearest Centimeter
    For the first time, reference altimetric stations have been installed at the heart of the Antarctic ice sheet by a team from the Institut des géosciences de l'environnement in Grenoble (IGE – CNRS/INRAE/IRD/UGA – Grenoble INP-UGA). This major technological breakthrough supports the calibration of European satellites and advances our understanding of sea-level rise.

    2026 Thesis Prize: 13 young PhD graduates honored by the Université Grenoble Alpes
    The Université Grenoble Alpes has honored thirteen doctoral graduates from the class of 2025 whose theis work is deemed to be of exceptional quality: 7 to recognize academic excellence, 3 to promote interdisciplinarity, 2 to support both technological and social innovation, and 1 to encourage ecological transformation. The awards will be presented at the “Doctoral Ceremony” on June 9, 2026.
