Applying using the eCandidat application

Your circumstances mean you must apply using the eCandidat application.

Step 1: consult the courses open to applicants and course choice calendars

Calendars for applications vary depending on the course and begin on 10 February 2020.

Check that the course you wish to register for is managed by this application in the section "Consulter les formations" of the eCandidat application. If the message "Calendrier indisponible" is shown, this means eCandidat does manage the applications but that the campaign dates have not yet been published online. You can view the websites for establishments associated with courses to see specific calendars for applications. Some courses have several application campaigns.

Step 2: create your dossier

  1. You must complete your online dossier on the eCandidat application.
  2. You must submit your application dossier online and choose a maximum of four course preferences for the entire university.
  3. Check your email inbox regularly. At every stage of the procedure you will be sent messages to keep you up-to-date with the processing of your dossier.
  4. NB. for some courses dossiers must be sent by post. Once you have completed your dossier, you must print and send it along with the supporting documents requested. If your dossier and supporting documents have not reached the university by the scheduled deadlines, your request will not be processed. If you log in in the last days of the process, remember to take into account the time it will take for your application to arrive.
  5. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your dossier. If your dossier is incomplete, you must log on to eCandidat to find out which documents are missing or incomplete and submit them again (or send them by post if requested).
  6. Requests are studied by the establishment's admissions committee.
  7. After your dossier has been studied by the committee, you will receive a message informing you of the response to your application (refusal, acceptance, waiting list, etc.).
  8. Students that have been accepted must log in again to confirm their registration request or withdraw.
  9. Students that have confirmed will receive a message stating that they are authorized to register, as well as information on the registration procedure.
  10. In most cases registration will be online.
  11. If you are a student coming from another French university and your application is successful, you must transfer your dossier from your last university to Université Grenoble Alpes.
