Quantum

Quantum information, quantum engineering, quantum computing, quantum devices, quantum materials
The Quantum thematic program offers specific high-level training at the Master’s level on the quantum properties of devices, matter and light. This program is incorporated into several UGA Master’s programs and engineer school pathways.
It will also offer grants for education abroad and internship scholarships which are open to international students. Research topics range from quantum information and computing devices (semiconductors, superconductors, solid-state or optical Qubits), quantum calculation and metrology, quantum sensors, to quantum materials (bulk, nanostructures and 2D systems) or complex systems and hardware developments for quantum information processing. It will also include multidisciplinary aspects in computer science, mathematics, human sciences and related technology.

How to apply

Please note that the labelling courses of this thematic program will be taught in English.

For the first year, you have to apply and be admitted to the “Nanophysics-Quantum physics” Master 1 of UFR PhITEM or to the 2A-IPHY 2nd year of PhELMA-GINP engineer school.

For the second year, you may choose to continue in one of the following Master 2 specialties (possibly done as a double cursus Master 2 / engineer student):

Specific courses for this thematic programme

Master 1 / 2nd year engineer track

  • UE PT1, Quantum labworks (3, ECTS).
  • UE PT2 Quantum statistics and interactions (3, ECTS).

Master 2 / 3e year engineer track

  • UE PT3, Quantum condensed matter (3 ECTS).
  • UE PT4, Quantum optics (3 ECTS).
