This research department deals with mathematics, information and communication sciences and technologies (computer science, automatic, signal processing), from basic research to applications.

Strategic axis

MathAlp: From the most fundamental aspects of mathematics to all kinds of applications

This capacity is key now that new mathematical concepts and techniques are required to face issues of growing complexity. The objective is to improve the visibility of UGA’s mathematicians, with an ambitious strategy in research and education.

Cyberphysical systems

Federating skills for ambitious projects, in the wake of Persyval-Lab and together with industrial partners, in particular Minalogic. Activities are structured along the following lines:
(a) high-level properties verified by specialists; (b) major applications; (c) basic tools and practices in computer science and mathematics to be implemented or developed for designing and creating cyberphysical systems.

Data science

Study of models and methods (physical, mathematical, statistical, computational…) to extract information and knowledge from data. Such models and methods are required to answer questions and develop applications in such domains as environmental sciences, sciences of the universe, life sciences, humanity and social sciences, monitoring, the Internet, communication networks…

Perception, interactions, uses

Designing and developing useful, ergonomic and friendly interaction systems, fit to human interaction modes and contexts. The keywords related to this axis are: human and artificial perception, cyberphysical human-system interaction and uses. More generally, this axis deals with designing, developing and using digital systems for a human environment.
