Shanghai Ranking 2024: UGA Maintains Its Place in the Top 150 Best Universities Worldwide
UGA's strong performance in the 2024 edition of the Shanghai Global Ranking confirms the quality of research conducted within its research structures and national research organizations. These results highlight the relevance of UGA's scientific strategy, implemented with its partners, to enhance research and innovation addressing societal and environmental challenges and supporting the development of its territories.
Established in 2003 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Shanghai Ranking (ARWU, Academic Ranking of World Universities) distinguishes the top 1,000 higher education institutions out of over 2,500 universities considered this year. It is based on six criteria, including the number of Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals among faculty members or alumni, the number of Highly Cited Researchers, and the number of publications in scientific journals such as Nature and Science. The sum of all indicators is related to the number of full-time equivalent permanent academic staff, with only faculty members being counted in France.
