From October 7 to 10, the Franco-Australian Center for Energy Transition (FACET) will hold its second symposium, for the first time in France, in Grenoble, on the themes of hydrogen, e-fuels and biofuels, critical minerals, and smart grids.
This joint initiative of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs, co-founded in 2023 by the CEA, Grenoble Alpes University, and Swinburne University of Technology (SUT) in Melbourne, aims to strengthen cooperation in research, training, and innovation in the field of energy between the two countries. Around 100 Australian and French scientists, industrialists, and decision-makers are expected to attend.

An official launch cocktail reception will be held on the evening of October 7. The symposium will take place the following day, organized on the scientific peninsula in Grenoble.

The program includes an opening address by the two co-directors of the center, followed by a presentation of the winning projects funded by FACET. The day will continue with a conference on the link between industry and innovation, followed by parallel sessions on the four key themes of the symposium.
The 9th and 10th are reserved for Australian visitors to enable them to discover the local and national research ecosystem.
