The Cermosem Rural Campus (Ardèche)

The Cermosem Rural Campus (Ardèche)

This one-of-a-kind campus is home to Cermosem, the Ardèche branch of the Institute of Urban Planning and Alpine Geography at the University of Grenoble Alpes. Here, nature isn’t just a backdrop outside the windows—it’s your primary learning environment. Your academic projects draw directly on the surrounding biodiversity, local geology, and the challenges facing rural areas.

A historic site in the heart of the great outdoors

Cermosem has been based in Mirabel, in the Ardèche region, on the Domaine du Pradel (also known as the Domaine Olivier de Serres) for over 30 years. It was on this very land that, in the 16th century, Olivier de Serres laid the foundations of modern French agronomy. The campus enjoys a privileged location at the crossroads of exceptional natural and cultural heritage sites, such as the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park, the Gorges de l’Ardèche National Nature Reserve, and the Chauvet Cave.
