Led by experts, designers, and facilitators, the Student Citizens’ Convention (CCE) is a participatory initiative that enabled the participating students to learn, exchange ideas, and deliberate in order to contribute to a genuine ecological transformation of theUniversité Grenoble Alpes.

In February 2026, over the course of a week, in dedicated spaces at the MaCI—Maison de la Création et de l’Innovation—some fifty students gathered to design the university of tomorrow: days filled with meetings, studies, reflections, debates, and discussions…
The students were thus able to hear from various stakeholders within the university and its departments, and to examine the measures, frameworks, and action plans already in place in order to envision what might be complementary, different, or even entirely new.

In March 2026, over the course of two additional days, they met again to consolidate these contributions and draft their “final report” based on a “systemic approach,” which reflects the strength of the discussions during this CCE but, above all, the importance that the students attach to these recommendations.

In April 2026, It was during the public presentation of the students’ discussions and recommendations that the UGA community—its many members in attendance, as well as its key stakeholders and decision-makers—were able to learn about the "Final Report" published by the students following the 2026 UGA CCE.

It is structured around three main areas, comprising twelve measures that are interdependent.

1. Ensuring a healthy diet that drives the ecological transition and is accessible to everyone;
2. Living with non-humans to preserve biodiversity and health;
3. University governance by and for students, moving toward a participatory ecological transition.
