13, October 2026Saint-Martin-d'Hères - University Campus
Located in the heart of the campus, the artwork "The Dragon and the Serpent" by the UV LAB collective will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, October 13, between 5:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the MUSE plaza. A monumental artistic event not to be missed!
Two intertwined spirals. Installed on the plaza in front of the MUSE building, the monumental artwork The Dragon and the Snake is inspired by the two rivers that gave rise to the Grenoble region—the Drac and the Isère—which are traditionally known locally as the Dragon and the Serpent.

Funded as part of the "Opération Campus" initiative, this sculpture by the UV LAB Collective It also recounts the history of hydroelectric power and "white coal," which contributed significantly to the scientific and academic development of Grenoble.

A Collective Data Sculpture

The work also has a strong participatory aspect: its form was designed based on a questionnaire completed by more than 1,300 people from the university community and beyond, making this sculpture a true collective data artwork, or “landark.”
