Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions - Innovative Training Networks
September 15, 2016 - January 10, 2017
This type of innovative training network sets out to bolster excellence and organise the initial and doctoral training of researchers who are just starting out. In addition to a traditional academic training framework, these Innovative Training Networks (ITN) must also provide transferable skills which open up career prospects in and outside academia alike.
The network supports joint research and/or doctoral training administered via partnerships between universities, research institutes, research facilities, companies, SMEs and other socio-economic stakeholders from different countries across Europe and beyond.

ITN project proposals may take one of three forms:
  • ETNs (European Training Networks)
  • EIDs (European Industrial Doctorates)
  • EJDs (European Joint Doctorates)
Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions (MSCAs) are open to all research and innovation areas stipulated by the treaty, from basic research all the way through to the marketing stages, and to researchers of all ages and levels of expertise, irrespective of their nationality.

Applicants are free to choose the research and innovation areas, as well as the sectors, in an entirely bottom-up approach.

MSCAs are open to innovation staff and researchers in universities, research institutes, research facilities, companies and other socio-economic stakeholders worldwide, including from third countries under the conditions defined in the regulations. Active participation on the part of companies, especially SMEs, is strongly encouraged for the implementation and impact of MSCAs.

Closing date for applications

10 January 2017.
