In an effort to meet the high demand for the Covid-19 vaccination, and in anticipation of fully opening the university, Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and the Grenoble Alpes University Hospital (CHUGA) have come together to reserve 100 daily slots for staff and students from UGA and its component institutions and partner research organizations starting 10 May, 2021, with no other conditions. Vaccination takes place at the Alpexpo vaccinodrome, with messenger RNA vaccines (Moderna or Pfizer).
This is part of UGA's overall strategy to preserve the health of its students and staff and to help control the pandemic.

"We extend our most sincere thanks to CHUGA. This agreement demonstrates the relationship of mutual trust and commitment between our two institutions. Thanks to the support of the CHUGA, we have been able to build local health services for students and staff throughout the academic year, such as the installation of a screening center on the Saint-Martin-d'Hères campus in September 2020, and now vaccination," said Yassine Lakhnech, President of UGA.

The vaccination service for students and staff of UGA and its component institutions (Grenoble INP - UGA, Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA, ENSAG - UGA) and for staff of partner research organizations, has been a great success. In less than 20 minutes, 200 applications were registered when the platform opened at 8 am on 8 May. Then in a few hours, 700 applications were registered. As a result, the requests received will be processed by the CHUGA over the coming days to deliver the 700 appointments spread out.

This system is based on an overbooking mechanism for vaccination slots and therefore on reserved vaccination slots for which no one has shown up. This possibility allows us to further optimize the vaccination potential of the Alpexpo center.

This new stage of vaccination is accompanied by additional measures for everyday life. In addition to the vaccination, self-testing kits will be progressively made available to students and staff in the various departments and laboratories, as well as to student associations.
