There are several possibilities to learn French before or during your studies at the University of Grenoble Alpes.

At UGA: University Centre for French Studies (CUEF)

For student mobility within the framework of a partnership (exchange program, dual degree program...)

UGA offers 20 hours of French courses at the CUEF. These courses are free and are worth 3 credits (ECTS). Your host faculty will sent you the procedure to register to these courses.

For international degree-seeking students

You can take intensive French courses before the start of your studies at UGA or during the semester. UGA students benefit from a 20% discount on presentation of the student card or letter of acceptance if the courses take place before your enrolment at the university.

  • MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are free online courses open to anyone: the French Ministry of the Interior has set up online French courses aimed to reach the A2 and B1 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The courses are designed to see all aspects of required learning by international newcomer students. Level A2 includes 70 hours of courses and B1 level 90 hours.
