In the heart of the Alps, the CUEF, University Centre for French Studies, welcomes you throughout the year for French classes adapted to your needs and for training for teaching French as a foreign language (FLE).


There are two main areas of education:

  • Language and culture classes, monthly or six-month university diploma (general French, French for academic purposes and French for professionals)
  • Training for FLE teachers.
Seven university diplomas.
DELF-DALF / TCF approved examination centres.
Tailor-made courses: teaching practice, train-the-trainer courses and instructional design.
Methods at the cutting edge of instructional innovation and expertise thanks to 40 teachers and educational specialists with multiple specialisms.


As a Research Experimentation Centre in FLE Education within the Université Grenoble Alpes, the CUEF provides:

  • Teacher training and the design of teaching material and teamwork for training and research projects with an international perspective,
  • Courses designed to help international students, whatever their specialism, to bridge the gap and ensure they integrate seamlessly into the French university experience.


The CUEF has many international partners.

For example, under the MIRA project and in partnership with the Rhone-Alps region, the CUEF gives classes in medical French at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Other major partners include: Campus France, Institut Français, Alliance Française, ADCUEFE, Asdifle, AUF, CIEP, FIPF, Grenoble Alpes Métropole, Greta de Grenoble, Le Français Dans Le Monde and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
