For Patrick Lévy, president of Communauté Université Grenoble Alpes and principal investigator of the Initiative of Excellence Univ. Grenoble Alpes (IDEX project), “These are very encouraging results for the coming years, as one of the risks of the recent merger of universities (UJF, UPMF, Stendhal) was to see our rankings drop. And yet we see that we have maintained our position in most disciplines, and even progressed in certain criteria, most notably in the publication score. This translates to a better application of our common Univ. Grenoble Alpes signature, and to greater consideration from bibliometric analysis tools. Despite these positive results, and in regards to scientific results and academic subject rankings of the past few years, there remains a substantial scope for improvement in certain criteria. This scope should allow us, as early as 2018, to reach new heights.
