Michel Sève, Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Ahcène Boumendjel, Academic Director of the Erasmus Mundus Master's in BeInPM; Walid Rachidi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Yassine Lakhnech, President of Université Grenoble Alpes; Pierre-Nicolas Timsit, Head of the International Relations Office for the Health Sector
A single degree, recognized in France, Spain, and Italy. By finalizing the signing of the diplomas for the 2024-2025 cohort of the Erasmus Mundus Master's in Precision Medicine (BeInPM) in June 2026, Université Grenoble Alpes is bringing to life an academic cooperation model that is still rare in Europe. This joint degree, awarded in partnership with the University of Barcelona and the University of Naples Federico II, illustrates the high level of integration achieved by the three institutions in delivering excellence in precision medicine education.
A single degree recognized in three countries
The degree awarded to students of the BeInPM Master's program is much more than just an international qualification.
It brings together three national degrees (French, Spanish, and Italian) on a single parchment, jointly awarded by Université Grenoble Alpes, the University of Barcelona, and the University of Naples Federico II.
Unlike double or triple degrees, which generally result in several separate documents, this joint degree attests to a single educational pathway, recognized simultaneously by the three institutions and their national authorities.
Its implementation required several years of work to harmonize regulatory frameworks, pedagogical standards, and degree-awarding procedures. This level of integration remains exceptional in Europe today and positions UGA among the pioneering institutions in building a genuine European higher education offering.
The signing of the final diploma by Yassine Lakhnech, President of Université Grenoble Alpes, marks the culmination of this exemplary academic cooperation.
A World-Class Education in the Service of Precision Medicine
Coordinated by Université Grenoble Alpes, the BeInPM Master's program is funded by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
Taught entirely in English, this program brings together Université Grenoble Alpes, the University of Barcelona, and the University of Naples Federico II to train the future specialists in precision medicine. This fast-growing field draws on advances in genomics, biology, pharmacology, and data science to develop increasingly personalized diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
A program that attracts talent from around the world
Since its launch, the BeInPM Master's has established itself as an internationally renowned program.
Over four cohorts, it has welcomed 88 students from 45 nationalities. Each year, 22 students are selected from up to 700 applications worldwide, reflecting the program's attractiveness and excellence.
Beyond the success of this cohort, the awarding of this joint degree represents a major milestone for integrated European education. It illustrates the ambition of Université Grenoble Alpes to build, alongside its partners, a more open, transparent, and ambitious higher education system at the European level.
