Six dancers burst onto the stage as if rolling a die. They weave their way through a structure of neon lights and engage in a game of appearances and disappearances. Dressed in everyday clothes and colors, they share the same mischievous energy and the same vocabulary of movement—at times consisting entirely of right angles and geometric shapes, at others of undulations, contortions, and spins. Their paths, however, are unique, random, and unpredictable. They form and reform, intersecting with impeccable precision until the inevitable occurs: collision.
With *Hasard*, choreographer Pierre Rigal presents a piece that is as playful as it is philosophical, exploring the invisible forces that guide our lives, whatever name we give them: luck, chance, or fate. The implications are as existential as they are cosmic. In certain ancient theories, wasn’t it the spontaneous deviation of an atom that created the universe?
