A Summer School Focused on European Issues

This year’s program opened with an introduction to the EU’s values through the new AI Act, which presents a significant regulatory challenge for an emerging technology at the center of global news. It continued with an analysis of the 2024 European elections, viewed as a reflection of the European political landscape, followed by a discussion of the Union’s ability to reconcile its values and interests in its external relations.

A research workshop to put your knowledge into practice

A highlight of the program was the Wednesday research workshop, where participants were introduced to scientific research methods by exploring the practical implementation of democratic values within European institutions. Over the following days, the focus broadened to include: private-sector engagement in global governance and climate finance; debates on the EU’s strategic autonomy in the face of crises; and a historical and political perspective on European policy choices.

From Theory to Practice: Podcasts and Policy Briefs

Finally, the Summer School concludes with hands-on workshops on communication and knowledge dissemination—including podcast creation and policy brief writing—to help participants learn how to transform their academic expertise into tools that are accessible and useful to both policymakers and the general public.
