The Graduate School@UGA provides scholarships for international students who come to study at theUniversité Grenoble Alpes in a program related to one of the GS@UGA’s 18 thematic master’s programs. The scholarship is awarded for the first and second years of the master’s program (scholarships are not available if the student enrolls only in the second year of the master’s program).
Scholarship Amount
A total of 14,500 € over two years.
Duration
The scholarship is awarded for the M1 and M2 programs (no scholarship is available if the student enrolls only in the M2 program).
If a student withdraws or repeats a grade, scholarship payments will be suspended.
Selection Criteria
Be admitted to the first year of a master’s program (M1) or the fourth year of an engineering program participating in the GS@UGA program. Distance learning programs are not eligible (except during a mandated lockdown).
Be admitted to a thematic program at GS@UGA.
You must not be receiving any other scholarship (from the CROUS, the French government, a foreign government, a company, a foundation, Erasmus, etc.). Students who receive only a social assistance scholarship or an exemption from tiered tuition fees are eligible for a GS@UGA scholarship.
The scholarship recipient agrees to pursue the M1 and M2 programs at the University ofUniversité Grenoble Alpes s (UGA) and to complete their internships in a UGA laboratory. In certain cases, as part of a partnership, an exception to this rule may be granted if the request is made by the laboratory. Failure to comply with these commitments may result in the suspension of scholarship payments and a request for reimbursement. Engineering students, in particular, agree to complete their M2 internship at UGA laboratories.
Furthermore, GS@UGA does not impose any age limits or geographic criteria.
Application Process
Once you have been admitted to the first year of a master’s program or the second year of an engineering program at theUniversité Grenoble Alpes, you may be eligible to apply to the Graduate School@UGA.
Check to see if your master's program is eligible for the program of your choice.
If so, you can sign up for the thematic program by clicking the "Apply" button at the bottom of the page.
Once you have been admitted to the thematic program of your choice, you must express your interest in the scholarship in your statement of purpose when applying to the thematic program. Selection will be based on an interview, and you will be notified of the results in the spring preceding the start of the academic year (between March and June).

Applications are now being accepted fromFebruary 16 through June 15, 2026.
