Arnaud Boutlé's presentation during the REALIA program hackathon
Last month, we had the pleasure of organizing a hackathon with the REALIA program dedicated to exploring creative processes in children’s literature: “Before the Researcher, the Creator,” which took place from October 20 to 24, 2025.
Sponsored by the Graduate School@UGA, the H3S Faculty, and the SoCLE Department, and organized by Sylvie Martin Mercier and Laure Thibonnier-Limpek, this event brought together researchers, students, and creators united by a shared goal: to experiment, imagine, and explore new avenues for thinking about children’s literature.

We extend our warmest thanks to authors Arnaud Boutlé and Laurent Contamin, whose presence and insights enriched the entire week and who guided our students throughout their creative process.

A big thank you also to everyone who participated, shared, and helped make this edition a success.

A wonderful demonstration that innovation also arises from the intersection of disciplines and collective creativity.
