Learning French

Several centers and organizations in Grenoble, Annecy and Chambery offer courses, intensive courses and training sessions in French as a foreign language for newcomers, most notably CUEF, a department of Université Grenoble Alpes.

Learning French with the CUEF, university centre for French studies

CUEF delivers courses and training sessions in French throughout the year (summer included) for international newcomers in Grenoble, with the objective to develop both speaking and writing skills in French, as well as getting a good knowledge of French culture.

There are three types of courses:

  • Monthly courses: intensive courses, courses with an emphasis on improving writing skills.
  • Semester courses: in French language and French culture.
  • Specific courses: adapting to French university; preparing for university; DELF preparation course (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française), and DALF advanced diploma (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française).
