The British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is a provider of specialist higher education and careers information and solutions for students and young professionals. After a six-year partnership with the British magazine Times Higher Education, QS has been continuing these rankings for the past seven years with other media partners. What sets the QS World University Rankings apart from other international rankings is the importance they attach to academic peer review (40% of the overall score). Five other indicators go towards making up this ranking: employer reputation (10%); student-to-faculty ratio (20%); citations per faculty (20%); international faculty ratio and international student ratio (10%).
